Known drug dealer flees cops before being caught

MASON CITY – Police chased a wanted, violent drug dealer Friday afternoon in a Mason City neighborhood before he was caught and arrested.

Friday afternoon at about 3:13 PM, a member of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force observed Kenneth Shaun Neilsen, age 31 of Mason City, in the 800 Block of South Illinois Ave. in Mason City. Neilsen had warrants out for his arrest. Neilsen led the investigator on a short foot chase in the area before he was taken into custody.

Neilsen was served arrest warrants for violation of probation in connection to a felony charge of theft in the second degree and a charge of third degree criminal mischief. His bond on these warrants is $7,000, cash only.

After an investigation Neilsen was additionally charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a class C felony; fourth degree possession of stolen property, a serious misdemeanor; interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia, both simple misdemeanors.

The task force was assisted by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Department and Mason City Police Department. Neilsen is being held in Cerro Gordo County Jail. The case is still under investigation.

Nielsen has been charged with numerous crimes including a number of assaults.

This piece of crap has been in trouble with the law all of his life. I thought he was in jail, but some milksop judge must have let him out again. He can and will be violent if cornered.
