Armed, wanted drug dealer arrested, then bonds out of jail

WATERLOO – A man accused of being an armed drug dealer who was wanted on warrants after an investigation by Waterloo police was finally caught, only to post bond and walk free.

Waterloo police said that around midnight on July 4, 2014, officers with the Waterloo Police Department’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) made contact with a subject acting suspicious in the area of W. 4th Street and Locust Street. The subject was identified as eighteen-year-old Queshandis Ramon Seals of Cedar Rapids. During the investigation, officers completed a pat down of Seals and located a .22 caliber semi-auto handgun, which was later found to be stolen during a previous residential burglary in Waterloo. Officers also located a distribution quantity of marijuana on Seals’ person.

Seals was later released from the Waterloo Police Department with the investigation pending. Officers obtained arrest warrants for Seals on July 7, 2014 for trafficking stolen weapons, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, carrying weapons and possession of stolen property (theft 4th degree).

VCAT Officers coordinated with officers with the Cedar Rapids Police Department during the investigation. On July 13, 2014, Cedar Rapids Police Officers located Seals and took him into custody at his residence.

Seals posted bond on July 14 and left the Linn County Jail.
