DES MOINES – Governor Terry Branstad on Tuesday recognized National Teacher Appreciation Day.
Depending on which side of the aisle you are on, Branstad has either been hard on teachers by fighting to hold back on state funding for schools, or he has been fiscally conservative in supporting his fellow Republicans in the legislature.
He did propose a 41 percent increase in education spending for 2015.
