Mason City felon serving sentence for OWI, drug possession, awaits trial on domestic assault

MASON CITY – A Mason City man is serving a large portion of his 60 day jail sentence after pleading guilty to drunk driving and drug possession.

Bryon Michael Sletten, age 47, is in the Cerro Gordo County Jail until February 25th. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail for second offense operating while intoxicated and second offense possession of marijuana. His 60 day jail sentences are being served concurrently.

Sletten, a convicted felon, is awaiting trial on two charges of domestic assault, one of which allegedly involved strangulation, which by Iowa law is a felony.  The jury trial will be held February 4th.
