WASHINGTON – President Obama discussed how a large, bipartisan majority in the Senate voted to pass comprehensive immigration reform recently.

This legislation “would add a big boost to our economy, strengthen Social Security, and modernize our legal immigration system to make it more consistent with our value,” the President stated.

In his weekly address, President Obama called on Congress to pass this “commonsense bill quickly so that we can fix our broken immigration system and keep America strong for years to come.”

  1. Mr. President, please explain to me truthfully, how allowing 11 million illegals to suck off the two back teats of the government, is going to “boost our economy, strengthen Social Security, and modernize our legal immigration system”. I’m just a simple, legal, tax paying American, and I just don’t understand how this is going to work.

  2. Our immigration system of laws is not broken – simply not enforced.
If existing laws were enforced jobs held by illegals would be available to citizens who would then have to suck it up, get off the dole and actually go to work. This would strengthen social security as well. If we quit welfare to illegals that would go quite a ways to strengthen our economy as well.
Enforcing the laws would also be in line with our values – ignoring criminals is NOT.
This is all about future elections and we know it.
