MASON CITY – On May 8 at around 4:30 PM, the Mason City Police Department was dispatched to 12th Street and North Eisenhower Avenue for an accident involving a semi and school bus.
At the scene, the semi was in the ditch and the school bus was gone. The bus was contacted and the driver informed that the bus was not hit, but he would return to the scene.
The driver of the semi was issued two citations on May 10th and a reportable TRACS report was completed. Oleksandr O. Kolyesnykov, 26, of Sedalia, Missouri was cited for failure to maintain control and failure to obey a stop sign.
Emergency responders told Mercy Medical “We have no transports, we got lucky this time.”
