Wisconsin man in jail for felony eluding, other crimes

MASON CITY – A Wisconsin man is in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on numerous charges including felony eluding.

According to a report, on February 18th at about 4:30 PM, Randal Anthony Roberts, 30, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, was westbound on Highway 18 in Clear Lake and driving recklessly while law enforcement was pursuing when he ran a red light at North 24th Street and struck a pickup truck heading south on North 24th Street and turning east, causing about $1,000 damage to the pickup truck.

Roberts was apprehended and charged with second degree theft; no driver’s license; speeding; no seat belt; felony eluding; failure to respond to traffic signal; failure to yield and unsafe passing.

Roberts is being held on $10,000 cash-only bond and has a court date set for March 1st.
