Afghan Taliban leader reported killed

KABUL, Afghanistan, Feb. 1 (UPI) — A Taliban district leader in Ghazni province in eastern Afghanistan was killed by national police, district officials say.

Mullah Adam Khan, also known as Mullah Jan, died Wednesday night, Khaama Press reported. Afghan National Police forces carried out a military operation in the village of Ali in the Andar district.

Zarawar Zahid, who heads security operations in the province, said Khan was one of the Taliban leaders coordinating activities that have made Ghazni a hotbed of insurgency.
