SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – North Korea took the world by surprise by launching a long-range rocket Tuesday.
The North Korean government said the launch, which included a rocket and a satellite, was a success.
The U.S. and the U.N. had warned North Korea, but it went ahead with the launch anyway.
The international community widely believes that the launch was a cover for testing banned ballistic missile technology.
