MASON CITY – A Mason City man was arrested after multiple law enforcement agencies were looking for him Friday morning.
A report to the Mason City Police Department at around 3:08 AM Friday morning had at least 6 Mason City police officers in search of 25 year-old Matt Ray Ward who had apparently sustained some type of injury.
Ward had called 911, but dispatch was unable to understand what he was saying.
Police had stopped a vehicle in which Ward had last been seen getting into. When stopped, the female driver said she had dropped him off, not giving too much information.
The police officers were able to locate Ward at 1228 North Washington, but he fled from that location by escaping out a window. He was later located and stopped at the 1100 block of North Washington.
Mason City Police Officers, along with the Iowa State Patrol and Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Officers, had Ward wrapped in a blanket and were questioning him and the many people that were surrounding the area.
Ward was arrested for Public Intoxication, a simple misdemeanor, and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at 5:39 AM where he is still being held.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
