Auto accident in Frankiln county Monday injures two

Two people were injured in a Monday afternoon accident in Franklin county.

The incident took place on northbound Interstate 35 in Franklin county at about 5 p.m. Monday.

A vehicle driven by Robert Ubben of Blairsburg, Iowa attempted to pass a semi-truck when it struck a vehicle driven by Tamara Christianson of Preston, Minnesota.

Ubben’s vehicle then rolled into the median, injuring passenger Rosemary Ubben as well as Robert Ubben. Rosemary Ubben was transported to Franklin Medical Hospital via ambulance. Robert Ubben was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City via helicopter.

Tamara Christianson was uninjured.

Robert Ubben received a citation for unsafe passing.
