BROOKINGS, S.D. – First half turnovers and stalled offensive drives plagued UNI football as the Panthers fell to top-ranked and defending national champion South Dakota State 41-6 at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium on Saturday.

IOWA CITY – Iowa will face Wisconsin in a BIG10 road conference game Saturday in Madison, and coach Kirk Ferentz says the Badgers will be tough as usual.

KANSAS CITY – A familiar name is at the top of the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Preseason Poll as Kansas was chosen to win the 2023-24 regular season title in a vote of the Conference’s head coaches while Iowa State is picked 7th.

CEDAR FALLS – UNI men’s basketball rounded out its 2023-24 schedule on Friday with the release of its non-conference slate, featuring a road opener in the Lone Star state, a tournament appearance in the Bahamas and four home contests inside the McLeod Center.

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa senior tight end Erick All has been named to the Comeback Player of the Year Award Midseason Watch List on Wednesday.

CEDAR FALLS – UNI women’s basketball will open its Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) schedule on the road and host ten league contests at home this year, as the league unveiled its 20-game schedule on Tuesday morning.

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa senior punter Tory Taylor has been named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the Hawkeyes’ 20-14 Homecoming victory over Purdue.

AMES  – Beau Freyler has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Harrison Bey-Buie posted a career day on the ground as UNI held off a late fourth quarter rally for its third consecutive victory on Saturday night with a 27-20 win against the Indiana State Sycamores at Memorial Stadium.

AMES – Iowa State defeated TCU, 27-14, in a Big 12 home game Saturday night on MidAmerica Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium.

The nationally-ranked Hawkeyes have been selected to appear on television network or Peacock 23 times during the regular season, including 18 conference games.

IOWA CITY – Iowa (5-1, 2-1) defeated Purdue (2-4, 1-2), 20-14, in the Homecoming game on Saturday inside Kinnick Stadium.  

AMES – Iowa State honors the life and legacy of stadium namesake Jack Trice Saturday when it plays host to TCU in the Jack Trice Legacy Game presented by Nationwide. The Cyclones are 19-5 in their last 24 Big 12 home games.  Televised on FS2 at 7 PM.

IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa football team will make its debut on Peacock (NBC streaming service) this Saturday afternoon when the Hawkeyes host Purdue, and you will need an account there to watch the game.

IOWA CITY – If the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team going to be as successful as last season, their post players are going to need to fill some big shoes after the departure of Monika Czinano, and guard Caitlin Clark is busy building chemistry with players stepping into that important role.

CORALVILLE — University of Iowa volleyball fell to No. 1 Wisconsin, Wednesday evening inside Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.

The Hawkeyes host Minnesota (Jan. 15), Purdue (Jan. 19), Penn State (Feb. 9) and Wisconsin (Feb. 18) in Big Ten duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
