NIACC women’s basketball team ranked 14th in latest poll

MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team remained No. 14 in the NJCAA Division II poll released Monday.

MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s basketball team remained No. 14 in the NJCAA Division II poll released Monday.

NIACC (14-2 overall, 8-2 in the ICCAC) was also No. 14 in the Jan. 6 poll. The Trojans topped No. 20 DMACC 62-58 and Southwestern CC 85-50 in last week’s contests.

The Trojans have been ranked in all of nine of the polls in the 2025-26 season. The Trojans were ranked as high as No. 11 in the Dec. 1 poll.

Johnson County CC (16-0) remained at No. 1 in this week’s poll. Kirkwood (14-2, 8-1) fell to No. 5 after dropping a 78-70 overtime decision to now No. 24 Northeast CC (11-4, 6-3) on Saturday.

Iowa Lakes (12-4, 8-1) is ranked No. 16 and DMACC (13-4, 5-4 ) is ranked No. 20.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at Iowa Central. Game time in Fort Dodge is slated for 5:30 p.m.

The Trojans face No. 24 Northeast CC at home on Saturday in the NIACC gym. Game is is slated for 1 p.m.
