Deborah “Debbie” Dubois, was born in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania on June 7, 1953 to Edwin and Genevive (Lewis) Archer. She passed away on December 21, 2025 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 72 years.
Deb graduated from Port Allegany High School. While working at a cafe after high school, she met a young man, Gary Dubois in 1970 and fell in love. The couple was wed on December 23, 1973 at Hill Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford, PA. They were blessed with two children, Gary and Melanie. The couple continued to live in Pennsylvania for about the next 10 years. In 1981, they moved to South Dakota to be closer to Gary’s family. Deb enjoyed her job as a home health aide for many years, until her health declined and she wasn’t able to work. In 2019, they moved to Wallingford, Iowa to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.
Deb enjoyed many things in her younger years, including boating, camping, and traveling. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. In her later years, she enjoyed time reading, watching television, and researching any topic that she could online.
Deb is survived by her husband of almost 52 years Gary; her children Gary (Tisha) Dubois, Jr, and Melanie (Doug) Woodyard; and granddaughter Trinity Woodyard. She is also survived by her sister Linda (Pete) Ayers, brother Rick (Deb) Archer, sisters in law Linda Archer, Donna (Monty) Zuck, Dawn Hansen and Linda Dubois and her brother-in-law Dale Dubois.
Deb is preceded in death by her parents; her grandson James “JD” Woodyard; brothers Junior Archer and Jim Archer; sisters-in-law Diane Wheatley and Sussie Dubois; and brothers-in-law Don Dubois and Dick Dubois.
Private family services will be held for Deb.
