Joyce A. Arnold, 94, of Lake Mills, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Lake Mills with Pastor Rob Lanphere officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Lake Mills.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Joyce Arlene (Hobbs) Arnold was born on April 9, 1931, at her home in Patton, Pennsylvania to Laura (Bertin) and John Hobbs. She attended school in Pennsylvania and later continued her education in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
On September 3, 1950, Joyce married Louis Arnold. She spent her life as a devoted farm wife, primarily on a farm north of Joice, Iowa. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and creating crafts and items for bazaars and craft shows. After retiring, Joyce and Louis moved off the farm and settled in Lake Mills on September 28, 2002.
Joyce is survived by her children, Beth (Rodney) Stene of Joice, Iowa, and Jay Arnold of Dassel, Minnesota; Daughter in-law, Cathy Arnold of Lake Mills, Iowa. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Renae Hager, Adam Stene, Derek Arnold, Joshua Arnold, Krista Hyatt, Michael Buschman, Erica Benny, and Charista Harristhal; as well as fifteen great-grandchildren.
Additionally, Joyce is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Norman and Cynthia Pechacek of Colorado Springs, Colorado, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Laura Nelson and John Hobbs; her husband, Louis Arnold (who passed away in 2011); her sons, Randy and Mark Arnold; her sister, Teda Wysong; her sister-in-law, Shirley Everding; and her daughter-in-law, Jan Arnold.
