CRESTON, IOWA – An Iowa woman tragically lost her life in an auto accident when she lost control of her Ford Focus and the vehicle rolled several times into a ditch.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place near Creston, Iowa, on May 11, 2025. At about 5:03 PM that evening, a 2018 Ford Focus driven by 22-year-old Amber Lacina of Creston, Iowa, was southbound on Highway 25, just north of Creston. Lacina lost control of the Focus, crossed both lanes of traffic, and entered the east ditch. The vehicle rolled several times and Lacina was ejected.

As a result of the accident, Lacina sustained fatal injuries. The Patrol claims there was not a seat belt in use.

According to an obituary, Amber had worked as a server at Creston Family Restaurant and at various places in Des Moines and Creston through the years. Most recently Amber was working in the East Union Schools as a Paraprofessional.  She was very artistic, she loved to draw and listen to music.
