On May 11, 2025, at approximately 10:50 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a personal injury accident near the intersection of E Avenue and Hwy 3 Aurora IA. Balk sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy One, Oelwein IA. Balk was cited for Texting While Driving, and the damage to the 2007 Chevy Impala was considered a total loss.
