IOWA CITY – An Iowa woman who was apparently having a bad hair day armed herself with a knife, scissors and a rock in a sock, then beat down the door of her hairdresser when told there would be no refund for some hair products.

Police in Iowa City say the victim stated she was doing hair and couldn’t do the hairstyle the defendant, 21-year-old Daizha Armstead of Sioux City, Iowa, wanted. Police say Armstead got upset about a non-refundable deposit for the hair products. An argument ensued and the victim got the defendant out of her apartment.

However, Armstead (pictured at top) allegedly wasn’t leaving quietly and then started pounding on the victim’s door. The victim opened the door to tell the defendant to leave. The defendant then attempted to hit the victim with a rock in a sock. However, the victim was able to close the door. After this, Armstead knocked down the defendant’s door and left on foot. The victim had a scrape on her ankle from the door. The victim believed the defendant had a knife when she was breaking down the door as there were marks on the door consistent with it being stabbed.

Police say Armstead was soon found in possession of scissors and the rock in the sock. There was also a guard for a knife found outside the door to the victim’s apartment. Armstead also had a baggie containing marijuana that was found on her person.

Armstead was charged with the following crimes:

– 1ST DEGREE BURGLARY

– POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, MARIJUANA (SRMS)

– 4TH DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 4th – Damage $300 – $750

– ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY INJURY-1978 (SRMS)

Armstead remains jailed, pending a court appearance.
