Michael Raymond Beier, 62, passed away lovingly surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Good Shepherd Health Care Center.

Mike was born on January 18, 1961, in Mason City, Iowa, to Ron Beier (biological father) and Mary Ennen-Beier-Olson. Mike was the son to Maynard and Mary Olson, brother to Alan (Brenda) Beier, Julia Beier-Hubacher (Mark), Joel (Tommi) Beier and Neva Beier. He also was big brother to half-brothers Lance, Shawn, Shane, and Chad. He was the father to Kristen Beier and Anthony (Tami) Beier. He was also the grandfather to Saylor and Tatum Beier.

Mike is preceded in death by beloved nephew, Jordan Beier, and special friend of many years, Theresa Paulsen, and Ronald Beier.

Seven months ago, Mike was given the worst diagnosis and as typical Mike, his attitude was positive and powerful that he would be himself again, “BeierStrong”, and get through this, too. Considering he & “us” would coin him as having, “nine lives,” with the life he led….we are heartbroken to share that he’s no longer with us but we are thankful that he is finally not suffering or in pain any longer.

In his life, he was most proud of his children, Kristen and Anthony, and even more proud that he had the blessing of being a grandpa. Mike’s kids have the most fond memories of camping and fishing with their dad. Family was everything to Mike and he was the pillar of strength for his mom, children, and his siblings.

Mike had a knack for being everyone’s friend (literally)! Anywhere we would go, even as kids he would start conversations with anyone and we all would have new friends from that! His spontaneous humor, constant sarcasm, on-point bluntness led our family all of the years that we were so blessed to be loved by him.

Mike would not want us to be sad about his news. He would want us to be happy that he’s free of pain, free of cancer, free of hurting, to keep celebrating our lives, celebrate all of the moments, love one another unconditionally, crack an inappropriate joke at all times and in serious moments.

Mike believed so much in heaven and prayers, he would tell anyone going through a hard time that he’s praying for them, even during the times he was being challenged with life.

Thank you, all of you, all of the love & light you shared with Mike and the rest of us, our Family is so blessed to know your love and support!

There will be a Celebration of Life for Mike on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00pm at the First Congregational Church of Christ, 100 1st Street NE, Mason City, Iowa, 50401.

We ask that attendees wear either a Harley shirt and/or something red, Mike’s favorite color. There will be cake and drinks following the service.

Our family would like to formally thank Good Shepherd and Mercy Hospice Care as they did so much to help Mike be comfortable and amazingly taken care of. We would also like to thank Chloe with Hogan Bremer Moore for her support during this transition of our dear brother.
