NIACC’s Miller earns ICCAC women’s basketball weekly honor

MASON CITY - For the second time this season, a NIACC women's basketball player has been selected as the ICCAC Division II player of the week.

MASON CITY – For the second time this season, a NIACC women’s basketball player has been selected as the ICCAC Division II player of the week.

Freshman Tori Miller (pictured, above) was selected as the league’s player of the week for the week of Nov. 20-26. Freshman Madison Hillman earned the weekly award for the week of Nov. 6-12.

Miller shared this week’s player of week honor with Iowa Lakes’ Jordyn Stokes.

Miller, who is from Goodhue, Minn., helped guide the Trojans to three victories last week. Miller was 20 of 29 from the field (68.9 percent) and scored 47 points with 21 assists, 17 rebounds and six steals.

Against the Graceland University Junior Varsity, Miller scored a career-high 26 points with a career-best nine assists.

Against Central CC-Columbus, Miller scored 13 points with five rebounds and four assists. Against Southeast CC, Miller scored eight points with eight assists and six rebounds.

Miller averages 12.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest, which is second on the Trojans in both categories. She also leads the team with 36 assists and ranks second oin the team with 15 steals.

NIACC (7-2 overall) opens ICCAC play at home on Saturday against DMACC. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 1 p.m.
