EMMET COUNTY – A traffic stop in rural Emmet County resulted in multiple charges for an Estherville man.
According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, a sheriff’s deputy observed a traffic violation at approximately 4:30 pm on August 24 and initiated a traffic stop on West 14th Avenue North.
Upon contact with the driver, it was determined that the driver was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended license. Upon further investigation at the scene, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were discovered. During the subsequent search of the vehicle a 9mm handgun was also seized.
The driver, 25-year-old Gerardo Rosas was placed under arrest and transported to the Emmet County Jail where he was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Persons Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons, Driving with a Suspended License, No proof of Insurance and Driving with an Obstructed View.
