Minnesota fugitive packing fake gun, meth and weed nabbed by cops in Mason City

MASON CITY - A fugitive out of Albert Lea sporting a fake gun and plenty of drugs was nabbed while strolling down Monroe Avenue in Mason City Thursday evening.

MASON CITY – A fugitive out of Albert Lea sporting a fake gun and plenty of drugs was nabbed while strolling down Monroe Avenue in Mason City Thursday evening.

On September 28, 2023, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s dispatch received information from Steele County, Minnesota, regarding a fugitive possibly in the Mason City area. Information was provided that Delmer George Weiss Robbins (pictured, above), age 29 of Albert Lea, is wanted out of Owatonna, Minnesota, for Aggravated Robbery, 1st Degree, and Assault, 2nd Degree, with a dangerous weapon. The warrant is a result of a reported armed robbery on September 25 in Owatonna. Information was received that Weiss Robbins could be armed and dangerous.

At about 7:16 PM, a Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Office Deputy located Weiss Robbins walking in the 100 block of North Monroe Avenue in Mason City. Weiss Robbins resisted arrest but was taken into custody a short time later without injury. Mason City Police assisted with the arrest. Weiss Robbins was found to be in possession of a replica firearm, along with methamphetamine and marijuana. Weiss Robbins was transported by Mason City Fire Medics to Mercy One North Iowa for evaluation after the arrest. After being cleared, Weiss Robbins was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.

Weiss Robbins was held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on the Steele County, MN warrants, a Blue Earth County MN warrant for Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft, a Worth County, Iowa warrant for fail to appear for possession of marijuana. Weiss Robbins was charged by the Sheriffs Office with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and interference with official acts.

Deputies were assisted by Mason City Police and Mason City Fire Medics.
