Rockford man faces felony burglary and assault charges

Cerro Gordo County Sheriff deputies responded to report of an assault at a rural county residence located at 3861 Thrush Avenue shortly before 10:30am Wednesday morning.

Allegedly 51-year-old Scott Howard Ginther forcefully entered the private residence of 50-year-old David Bamrick and seriously assaulted Bamrick.

As a result of the incident and allegations deputies transported Scott Ginther to the Cerro Gordo County Jail on one Class B felony charge of 1st degree burglary, one serious misdemeanor charge of assault causing bodily injury, one simple misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief causing damage to property totaling $100 to $500, and one simple misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A defendant found guilty of a Class B felony in Iowa can receive up to 25 years in prison.

David Bamrick was treated and released at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City for injuries sustained in the alleged burglary and assault.

Scott Gunther was released from the Cerro Gordo County Jail Wednesday evening after posting a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
