Annette Marie Arndt, 63, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away June 12, 2025 at Heritage Care Center in Mason City.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family.
Annette was born on August 22, 1961 in Mason City, daughter of Harold L. Arndt and Judy (Vernon) Schoneman. She graduated from high school with the class of 1979, leaving a trail of fond memories and lasting friendships. Her thirst for learning led her to Hamilton Business College, where she earned several associate’s degrees. Her academic achievements, she often remarked, were among her proudest moments.
While her professional life was dedicated to the noble vocation of motherhood and homemaking, Annette never lost sight of her personal aspirations. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her universe. Annette’s interests were as vast as the Colorado mountains she adored. In her younger years, she experienced the thrill of hunting in the rugged wilderness. This love for the outdoors was paralleled only by her passion for reading. Annette was a lifelong learner who could often be found with a book in hand, delving into new worlds and ideas. Her affinity for animals was evident to all who knew her; especially her love of wolves and dogs. Annette’s big heart and compassionate nature were the hallmarks of her character.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Zach Monsen, Ross (Nicole) Monsen, and Nathaniel Ancioux; grandchildren, Ryden, Greysen, and Charlotte; parents, Vernon and Judy; siblings, Kathy (Mark) DeMaris, H. Allen (Lori) Arndt, Matthew (Tracy) Schoneman, and Bradley Schoneman; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Welcoming her into the gates of Heaven are her father, Harold; maternal and paternal grandparents; as well as several beloved aunts and uncles.
