SPENCER, IOWA – The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking public feedback on the possibility of adding a roundabout at an intersection at Spencer.

“Tell us what you think about a proposed roundabout at the north junction of U.S. 18 and U.S. 71,” the Iowa DOT is asking citizens.

Changes include the construction of a roundabout at the north junction of U.S. 18 and U.S. 71.

During the construction of the roundabout, traffic will be detoured along 4th Ave NW and 4th Ave W; this route will be paved and located in the southwest quadrant of the U.S. 18 and U.S. 71 intersection. Construction is expected to start spring of 2027 and end fall of 2027.

ATTEND IN PERSON MEEETING TO SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK

When: Monday, April 28, 2025, anytime between 4 and 6 p.m.

Location: Spencer City Hall, 101 W 5th Street, Spencer, Iowa 51301

Description: You will be provided with information about the project, and you can talk through your ideas with our staff. There will be no formal presentation.
