The pep buses were cancelled for the Mason City state girls game? School was cancelled for this game. My question is, will this day need to be made up at the end of the school year? It seems there wasn’t enough interest in the game so the buses were cancelled, so why cancel school if the day has to be made up?

Then why didn’t school district staff “provide information” to the board regarding options for filling the empty school board seat left by Tim Becker, and then discuss THAT in public, as they apparently intend to do on the early retirement program?

Why does the NIACC Board of Directors have to have a free meal every time they have a meeting? Are these appointed people somehow higher up the ladder than elected officials?
This is nothing more then a way for the city to take over paying to keep the mall open. Just like back when it was built the people don’t care if it is gone. We didn’t want it back in the 1980’s and we don’t want it now. Is there anyway to get the numbers on how much the city already pays for maintenance at the mall. such as snow removal I bet we would all be surprised
This news is nothing more then a shell game the tax-payers will fund this project then the tax-payers will rent it from the mall and do all the up keep. The people have told our elected officials we do not want to pay for a civic center downtown. If its such a great idea why doesn’t someone in the private sector build it and pay for it. OH YA its a proven fact these event centers are a money pit and we the people will be on the hook.
