Good news Vikings fans: The NFL has suspended Odell Beckham Jr. one game for his outrageous antics in his last game against the Carolina Panthers. He is the star wide receiver for the New York Giants, whom the Vikings play next Sunday night. The Vikings can hold onto a wild-card playoff spot if they win their last two games.
6 American soldiers were killed by a Taliban suicide bomber in Afghanistan … boots on the ground not working so well over there.
I’m not buying this whole Miss Universe “mistake” fiasco. I think Steve Harvey read the wrong name on purpose. Just look at all the avalanche of free publicity today. Another example of manipulating the media / social media to work the sheep.
I never rush to eat at a new restaurant. I let others go and learn these kinds of lessons.
boulder tap house. $42 for two burgers and fry. frys were hard and cold and burger sucked, dont waste your time
So Trump and Putin are like best friends now. That’s pretty great, right?
Whoever that schmuck was that revved up in front of my house better not come around again. I’ll knock you off your F-in bike.
Presidential candidate Martin O’Malley agreed that Iowa’s Medicaid privatization should be slowed down or halted altogether:
“Every state including Iowa has the right to make decisions to lower costs and improve quality—but Governor Branstad’s proposal to fully privatize Medicaid is dangerous. CMS should be in no rush to approve requests like Governor Branstad’s and the delay order today is the right decision for the health of the people of Iowa.
“To make healthcare more affordable we have to fundamentally change the way healthcare is paid for. Giving insurance companies the same incentives they’ve had for years, and passing those same incentives along to hospitals and physicians, isn’t going to get us where we need to be. As President, I would implement a plan that lets states keep half of the savings they can generate from actually improving health outcomes — that is the type of systemic incentive shift that we need and the type of new leadership that Americans and Iowans deserve.”
I heard it through the grape vine, about the hostile work environment of city hall. It seems that some people get harassed to the point of quitting a good paying job, for being to nice and helpful to the tax paying citizens of mason city. What a shame…
Has there been any more news on the death at the cerro gordo jail? There should be more information about it. Is this being suppressed?
Did anyone else notice Bobby Fisher at the Hillary event Wednesday. He sat on that tiny yellow chair the whole time with his arms crossed in front of him. What a pathetic excuse for a “journalist”. All he reported was audio he got using his sad little 1985 tape recorder. This man is no journalist, he is a joke.
Where are the “birthers?”
Obama’s US citizen mother was born in Kansas; his father was Kenyan. The “birthers” threw a fit and refused to believe Obama was born in Hawaii; stated that if he was born in a foreign country he could not be President.
Cruz’s US citizen mother was born in Delaware; his father was Cuban. Cruz was born in Canada–for a fact. So why aren’t the “birthers” (including Trump) tearing Cruz apart on this issue?
You know what’s really pathetic is a man like John Rowe, a NIACC board member, routinely calling out the president and practically anyone else he feels like. Mr. Rowe seems to have trouble running his grill in his backyard without burning his house down. He helped run NIACC so well the dorms opened a year late, and the last college president left town with a gigantic payday even after her son sold drugs on the campus – he was on the board then, too. Still lots of drugs on his campus, last time I checked.
Mr. Rowe, why don’t you shut that gaping piehole under your nose and clean up after yourself before you take shots at others?
The Republican debate last night was informative, substantive and presidential. My compliments to CNN and the candidates. The field will quickly begin to winnow down to three or four well qualified contenders.
ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS LEFT EARLIER BY A READER:
Q: Question? Why do the Cerro Gordo County sheriffs get to drive the county sheriff vehicles home and to work?
A: Deputy Sheriff’s are assigned cars to take home. Deputies go on duty from their residences. It saves time when responding to calls when they begin their shift and also makes it so deputies do not have to drive to the office to begin their shift.
Last August, as Person of the Year runner-up Donald Trump was establishing himself as a real contender, the candidate agreed to pose with a bald eagle for a TIME cover story. The idea came from Martin Schoeller, the award-winning portrait photographer and frequent TIME contributor who shot the cover.
The eagle’s name, for the record, is Uncle Sam, and he’s 27 years old.
Did you see the idiot Scott Walker from Wisconsin? He ran up a big campaign debt in his failing effort to become president before he finally quit the race. Now, he’s begging for donations to pull himself above water. “Your contribution of $10, $35, $50, $100, $250, or more right now will help us pay down this campaign debt and officially close the books on our 2016 campaign,” his campaign says on his website. “And if you contribute $30 or more in the next three days, we will send you a limited edition lapel pin.”
Kind of pathetic, I think. Sounds like something Eric would do.
Southbridge $22 dollars to see and a picture with santa… outrageous..
@David-It requires Matt to clear the moderation as it goes into a holding program. If he is busy it might take awhile. Someone tyhinks it is cute to report all of our comments. I would bet Matt can figure out who it is and eventually ban them.
Probably because Petey is still here deleting everyone’s comments. I don’t know zip about technology, but I’m sure there is a way that the publisher could block him completely. He just wont.
