BS today because of rigged collective union bargaining public sector employees make more in salary and benefits than comparable private sector employees. That may have been true over 60 years ago but that changed once unions and crony politicians started sticking to us taxpayers.
Saw an article in the Glob about the care center in Buffalo Center. People need to do their research before putting a loved one in a care facility. There is an assisted living center right here in Mason City that may look like a great place for your loved one. Homestead looks like a great place. But what goes on behind closed doors is another story. The people that live there are not receiving their medications properly or not at all, and the nurses cover up these med errors.There was no air conditioning for two months this summer. Some residents got sick because of the extreme heat. There is no assistance with bathing and showers but families are getting charged for these cares. People pay thousand of dollars for their families to live at the facility and the care is inadeqaute. Please do your homework before putting a loved one in a care facility.
