According to city documents, the City Administrator/Finance Director in Mason City has directed all Department heads to review the FY2018 budget, which ends on June 30, 2018, to try to refrain from spending 1% of the General Property Tax revenue given to the department. This is being done in anticipating of the reduction of the rollback from State of Iowa in FY2019 of $190,000 for the City.
