MASON CITY — Grace Louise Piper, a Mason City woman whose life was rooted in family, children, grandchildren and many loved ones across generations, died Friday, May 22, 2026, at her home. She was 84.
Grace was born September 13, 1941, to Edward and Janet True. She built a life that carried her through decades of family milestones, joys, losses and the everyday devotion that comes with being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; her son, Chris Piper; and her sister, Shirley Smith.
Grace leaves behind her children, Todd Piper and his wife, Tina, of Sedalia, Colorado; Vickie Piper of Mason City; and Bradley Piper and his wife, Scarlett, of Lincoln, Nebraska. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Laura Piper; grandchildren Michael Piper, Melissa Piper, Scottie Vollrath, Danielle Bolte, Andrea Piper, Rachelle Sieverding, Brock Piper, Whitney Korger, Elliott Piper, Adam Piper and Avery Piper; many great-grandchildren; siblings Tom True, Nancy Prizler, Kevin True and Kurt True; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A visitation was held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel in Mason City. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 28, 2026, also at the chapel.
