CLERMONT — A Northern Iowa man was arrested Saturday night after a single-vehicle crash in Fayette County.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of a single-vehicle accident with unknown injuries at approximately 10:04 p.m. on May 9, 2026, near 26013 Crystal Road in Clermont.
An investigation determined that Jason George Massman, 40, of Clermont, Iowa, was driving southwest on Crystal Road when the vehicle entered a ditch and damaged two signs.
Authorities said Massman was found to be intoxicated.
Massman was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated 3rd Offense, a Class D felony; Failure to Maintain Control, a simple misdemeanor; and Striking Fixtures Upon Roadway, a simple misdemeanor.
Massman was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail, where he was held pending an initial appearance.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
