BENTON COUNTY — An Iowa man was killed Monday afternoon in a head-on collision involving a pickup truck and a dump truck on Highway 151 in Benton county.
The Iowa State Patrol reports that the fatal accident occurred at approximately 5:06 p.m. on April 13, 2026, in the 7900 block of US Highway 151. According to the crash investigation, 33-year-old George Daniel Martin of Norway was traveling northbound in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado when his vehicle crossed the center line. Martin’s pickup collided with a southbound 2013 Mack dump truck in the southbound lanes.
The dump truck, owned by Brian Miller Excavating LLC, was driven by 20-year-old Zayden Joseph Keim of Conroy. While Keim was not listed with injuries in the initial report, the impact proved fatal for Martin, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office by Murdock Funeral Home.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were removed from the scene by Riggs Towing. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Blairstown EMS, the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, and Norway Fire. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Schamberger.
