Corabel Mark, 88, of Iowa Falls, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Scenic Manor. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, James, with a private graveside inurnment at the Union Cemetery. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Iowa Falls is caring for Corabel and her family.
Corabel Mark was born on June 23, 1936 to Clifford and Laura (Williams) Rickey in Woodstock, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City, Iowa in 1954. Corabel served in the United States Army for two years. In 1956 she married John Forrister. They had one daughter, Cheri. Corabel and John later divorced in December 1970. In 1975 Corabel was united in marriage to James Mark.
Corabel worked in home health care for over twenty years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 188.
Corabel is remembered by her family as living a strong and spirited life. Corabel and James looked forward to their winter escape to Texas. When Corabel lived on the farm, she enjoyed gardening and sharing her abundance with friends and neighbors. Corabel was an Iowa State football fan enjoyed talking with her brother-in-law ever Sunday in Virginia about the games.
The family would like to thank the staff at Scenic Manor for taking such good care of Corabel these past few years, and to the Hospice nurses who cared for her this past week. Corabel will be missed. She never wanted gifts, but it was important to her to receive a birthday card.
Corabel Mark is survived by her sister, Rosemary (Walt) Mertle and their family; brother in-law, Jerry (Chris) Mark and their family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mark; daughter, Cheri Campbell; parents, Clifford and Laura Rickey and a brother.
