WEST UNION, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man was arrested for public intoxication and interference with police, and then brought cocaine to jail.
On January 29, 2023, at approximately 9:30 PM, the Oelwein Police Department arrested 43-year-old Jason J Laurie of Oelwein, on multiple charges, including public intoxication and interference with official acts. Police say that when Laurie arrived at the Fayette County Jail in West Union, he was found to be in possession of cocaine.
As a result, Laurie was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense, a class D felony.
Laurie, records show, has an extensive felony drug record in criminal court. He is currently awaiting an initial appearance in court.
