WINNEBAGO COUNTY – A Minnesota man is dead in a Winnebago county auto accident.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on August 20, 2022. At about 2:52 PM that afternoon, a 2002 Ford F250 pickup driven by 61-year-old Dean Balvance of Buffalo Center, Iowa, was northbound on 20th Avenue near 460th Street near Buffalo Center. At the same time, a 2014 Ford Fusion driven by 67-year-old Richard Hensel of Monticello, Minnesota, was southbound on the same road. The F250 made a left turn and went directly into the path of the Fusion.
As a result of the ensuing collision, Richard Hensel was killed. Balvance was injured. Gloria Hensel was also hurt. Both were taken to a Blue Earth, Minnesota hospital.
