Phyllis A. Thackery, was born on April 20, 1924 in Maple Hill, Iowa to Valdon and Alma (Anderson) Eckholm. She passed away on July 11, 2022 at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa.
Phyllis attended school in Estherville. She was united in marriage to Willis L. Thackery in Blue Earth, Minnesota on July 23, 1943. She worked at the dime store, grocery store, TG’s Industries, Stokely’s, and Pete Hurt Potatoes throughout the years. She will be remem
bered as a hard worker. Phyllis spent most of her years raising her children at home.
Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville. She enjoyed BINGO and shopping at consignment stores.
Phyllis is survived by her children Linda (Larry) Bell of Ceylon, Butch (Karen) Thackery of Armstrong, Dennis (Connie) Thackery of Armstrong, and Mary (Michael) Rezac of Maple Hill. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis, her children Steven Thackery and Karen Thackery, grandson Mark Thackery, and her siblings Betty Paulsen, Marge Walders, Kenny Eckholm, and Lyle Eckholm.
