
Leian K Stiles, was born on April 15, 1958 in Charles City, Iowa to Leland and Beverly (Mulhern) Stiles. She passed away on February 16, 2022, from complications of COVID 19 in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 63 years.
Leian graduated from Graettinger High School in 1976. Following graduation, she worked on the railroad for a short time before she then joined the United States Army. She was assigned to the Army Motor Pool Division. Leian was stationed in Germany for three years. After six years in the Army she was honorably discharged. Leian then started her career as a truck driver and travelled all over the United States.
Leian was an experienced truck driver, having driven many types of trucks and trailers over the years. She was the proud owner of her truck JOA, it could be recognized on the road with its amazing artwork of Joan Of Arc, Patron Saint of Strong Women; which Leian was. She earned many safety awards throughout her career, including a four-year perfect driver with her employer and a seven-year Safety Award from the National Safety Council. Her home base was Mobile, Alabama for over 30 years. She recently made Springfield, Missouri her home.
Leian had a great love for animals. She especially loved cats; they were her travelling companions for many years. She had multiple cats throughout the years, including Tori, Riley, Joa, and Shadow. Leian recently got two new kittens Fred and Bobby, they were already great travel buddies.
Leian is survived by her father Leland “Jiggs” Stiles of Emmetsburg, Iowa; her siblings Kevin (life partner Lorraine) Stiles of Manson, Iowa , and Marcie (Gary) Taylor of Estherville, Iowa; her nieces: Charity Vogel, Erica Stiles, Rachel Hilton, and Amber Nelson; and great nieces and nephews: Allie, Owen, Kendra, Shawn, Hailey, Kjeirsten, Veronyca, and Asher.
Leian is preceded in death by her mother Beverly Sitles, grandparents, and sister-in-law Patrica M. (Clipperton) Stiles.
