LuEtta Marie Wurr was born on December 19, 1925, on a farm near Breda, IA, the daughter of Emil and Frances (Skalla) Wurr. She attended Annunciation school in Coon Rapids, IA up through the 8th grade. On February 5, 1947, LuEtta was united in marriage to the love of her life, Wayne LeVerne Cashatt in Coon Rapids, IA. These two spent 67 years together in a marriage that was inspiring to those who were blessed to see them with one another. Their love for each other was such a beautiful thing shared between not only themselves but also over 40 foster children and whoever needed a helping hand.

LuEtta had a strong love and passion for the Lord, and she was given such a huge heart that she would use in her 96 years with us. LuEtta was such an amazing cook and used her talents as a coordinator for Meals on Wheels for almost 7 years, she loved all of the kids the same and would make sure they all knew how much love they had with her. She was a proud 52-year member of the St Mary’s Catholic Church and even helped cleaning the church for a few years. LuEtta was also a religious education teacher and director for 22 years and loved being able to combine two of her most cherished things together and that was the love of her Lord and the children she taught.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Gary Cashatt, Tim Cashatt, and Margaret Wagner; two sons-in-law: one daughter- in law: siblings: Dennis Wurr, June Anthofer as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
