FAYETTE COUNTY – A Northern Iowa sex offender is facing a felony for living in an unapproved location.
On January 5, 2022 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office completed an investigation on a possible violation of the Iowa Sex Offender Registration, which lead to the arrest of Cris Michael Brehme, age 44, formally of Strawberry Point, IA. Brehme was found living at 129 S Cline Street in Wadena, Iowa. Brehme was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail on a $5,000.00 Bond. Brehme has prior convictions for this violation making this charge a class “D” Felony and if convicted could face up to five years in prison.
Brehme was convicted of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse in 2006 in Fayette county; his victim was a female age 18 or older.
