OBIT: Jaun Antonio Alday Pena

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Oakcrest Funeral Services with Father Paul Kelly officiating. Further services will be held in Mexico.

Juan Antonio Alday Pena was born July 2, 1988 in Zacualpan, Mexico; son of Jose Alday Barrios and Cleotilde Pena Hernandez. He grew up in Mexico and attended school through the 9th grade.

Juan was united in marriage to Maria Yaneli Lopez Vargas. Together they were blessed with three children. He worked hard to provide clothing, shoes, and toys to his wife and children in Mexico. He loved his job as a cook. He was currently cooking for Tequila Mexican Restaurant and Bar in Storm Lake. Juan also enjoyed playing soccer.

Juan died Friday, November 12, 2021 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was 33.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Yaneli Lopez Vargas; children, Jaqueline Alday Lopez (12), Christian Jesus Alday Lopez (10), Kevin Alday Lopez (6); his parents, Jose Alday Barrios and Cleotilde Pena Hernandez; siblings, Ofelia Alday Pena, Rogelia Alday Pena, Maria De Courdes Alday Pena, Jose Alfonso Alday Pena, Efrain Francisco Alday Pena, Omar Alday Pena; grandmother, Apolonia Hernandez; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
