AMES – Iowa State won its second-straight game to open the season, beating Oregon State, 60-50 Friday night in Hilton Coliseum.
Gabe Kalscheur reached double figures for the second time this season, coring 15 points and has led the Cyclones in scoring in both wins.
Iowa State used its second starting lineup in as many games: Brockington, Conditt, Enaruna, Hunter, Kalscheur.
ISU is 2-0 for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
The Cyclones held Oregon State to just 33.9 percent shooting from the field, the lowest FG percentage by a Cyclone opponent since Texas shot 29.3 percent on Feb. 15, 2020. ISU opponents are now shooting just 38.1 percent from the field and are averaging 19.0 turnovers per game.
ISU owned a 17-1 edge in fast break points.
The Cyclones outrebounded Oregon State, 39-34.
ISU assisted on 15-of-25 field goals (60 percent)…for the season, ISU has assisted on 59.6 percent of field goals (31-of-52).
ISU has made a three-pointer in 460 consecutive games, dating back to the 2007-08 season.
