Jerald Eugene Heifner was born on May 13, 1927, in Titonka, Iowa. He was the oldest child of Vincent and Ivy (Carlson) Heifner. He passed away on October 20, 2021, at Mayo Hospital of Fairmont, MN.
Jerald attended school at Titonka Consolidated. He served in the Navy. He moved to Dolliver, Iowa to be a farmhand for Virgil Zwiefel. There he met Ardis Lee and they were married on July 7, 1949. His great love and dedication to farming grew and he was a very successful farmer for 48 years.
Ardis passed away March 10, 1996. Later he met Myrtle Probst and they were married on April 17, 1999, and moved to Fairmont, MN. He volunteered at the Fairmont Hospital for 13 years.
Jerald is survived by his wife, Myrtle Heifner; daughter, Donna (Tim) Handeland, son Jerry (Jan) Heifner and daughter, Lori (Dave) Wilson; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his brothers Virgil and Cecil; brother-in-law, Alvin Hopkes and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Heifner and Gert Heifner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ardis, son Larry, siblings, Ruby, Carrol, and Robert, and sisters-in-law, Fonda and Louise.
