Michael Oris Miller, age 62, passed away on Sunday, April 25th, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa, with his children by his side.
Family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
Michael was born March 11th, 1959, the son of Melvin and Jeanette Miller in Volga,
IA. Michael was raised and educated in Manchester, IA, where he spent a large portion of his life. Michael was quite handy and had many jobs over the course of his life including working for J’s Auto, Randy’s Sanitation, and Lynch Roofing before starting his own roofing company, Miller Roofing.
When Mike wasn’t at work, you could find him tinkering around with anything that had an engine. He was also an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing, and camping his whole life and trying to instil that same passion for the land in his children and grandchildren. Mike also loved Nascar, a nice cold beer, 80’s rock, and any dog that came across his path. He loved his children fiercely and was proud of each of them, no matter what.
Those left to cherish memories of Michael are his children, Jami Klootwyk of Des Moines, IA, Dustin (Karen) Miller of Colorado Springs, CO, Stacey Miller of Lincoln, NE, Indeea (Ben) Wery, of Marion, IA, Makenzie Miller, of Marion, IA and Madison (Cody) Davidson of Ryan, IA. His siblings, Connie, Nancy (Jim), Jim (Joyce), Merri, and Jeff, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and Melvin Miller, three sisters, Karen, Darlene and Marlene, and infant son Dylan.
The family would like to thank the staff on the 6th floor CCU at MercyOne North Iowa Medical center for the care and compassion they extended to Mike during his time there.
