Shirley Irene Wallace, 88, of Mason City passed away on February 19th after a sudden illness.
She lived a long and selfless life. Known as Grandma Shirley to most she knew, she was a loving and nurturing woman, quick to try to feed you every time she saw you. She loved to be outside, sitting around a fire or growing flowers and vegetables and loved to travel. Her favorite memories all revolved around her family. She will be sorely missed by many.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Johnie, daughter Priscilla, granddaughter Heather, a brother, Irving, two sisters, Thelma and Lorraine and many other family members.
Shirley is survived by her two remaining daughters, Patricia Abele and her husband, John and Margaret Bagur, as well as 4 grandchildren Angela (Shawn) O’Donnell, Bobbi (Kevin) Ring, Joe (Samantha) Mary, Mike (Melanie) Bagur, several great-grandchildren and countless others whose lives she has touched.
Shirley will be interred at Memorial Park at a later date.
We will gather again when the spring blooms arrive.
