The initial investigation on scene indicated that a male had shot at least two rounds from a suspected flare gun at the victim, striking him in the upper torso and face area. After firing the flares at the victim, the offender began striking the victim with an unknown instrument before fleeing the area. The victim was transported to Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center for non‐life‐threatening injuries.
