NEW HAMPTON – A Charles City woman was found deceased in Cedar River this week.
According to the Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office, a report of a missing person on the evening of August 13 led to a search of the Cedar River. The search led to the area of Howard’s Woods Recreation Area near Nashua.
Later that evening an adult female’s body was recovered from the river; 23-year-old Mikala Titus of Charles City. Funeral arrangements are pending with Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton.
An autopsy will be performed in Ankeny and the incident in under investigation.
