MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA – A teen that has been searched for over the last few days has been found dead in a river in Marshalltown.

The Marshalltown Police Department reported this morning that 18-year-old Jazmin Reyes Raya was found deceased today just before 10:00 AM. Her body was located in a remote area of the Iowa River, about 500 yards northwest of the North Center Street bridge area in that community. At this time, there is no evidence or information that indicates criminal activity is connected to this missing person/death investigation. However, this is still an active investigation and all possible scenarios will be thoroughly investigated, police said in a statement. She was reported missing on Friday.

A press conference is not being planned at this time. No other public information is available for release.

The family of Jazmin Reyes Raya requests everyone honor and respect their privacy at this time.

The Marshalltown Police Department has been assisted in this investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshalltown Fire Department, Marshall County 911, Marshall County Crime Stoppers, Marshall County Emergency Management, Star 1 Search & Rescue, Story County Emergency Management, and private search and rescue dog team handlers.

    thats f****ed up dude. it would be cooler if when people felt the need to take innocent life they would only kill fat and or ugly women. not cute fit girls.

    nope. the local law enforcement seems to be conducting an investigation. something about all possible scenarios being looked into. they dont seem to be hiding or purposely dismissing anything. isnt most of the comment section here anonymous…..
