CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City responded to a disturbance in the process, arrested a man for drunk driving that is already on probation for domestic violence.
The incident took place on February 16, 2019. Officers with the Charles City police department were called to the 1000 block of North Grand Avenue for a disturbance. While en route, police say, they encountered the suspect vehicle in the 100 block of 1st Avenue. As a result of the disturbance, 24-year-old Luis Eduardo Gonzales of Charles City was arrested for first-offense operating while intoxicated. He was jailed and later released.
Records show Gonzales was charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury in June of 2018 by Charles City police. He later received a deferred judgement and was put on probation for a year.
