OBIT: Julia June (Henze) Muller

Julia June Muller, 90, of Grundy Center, passed away on December 24, 2018, at Grundy Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 5-7 PM at Abels Funeral And Cremation Service Engelkes-Chapel in Grundy Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Abels Funeral And Cremation Service Engelkes- Chapel in Grundy Center at 10:00 AM with Pastor Nate Huisman officiating. Visitation will resume from the evening prior at 9 AM. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family to be donated to a cause of their choosing at a later date. Engelkes-Chapel is taking care of Julia and her family. Julia June Muller was born on March 1, 1928, on the grandparent’s family farm, the youngest of 10 siblings, to her parents August and Gepka (Van Deest) Henze. Julia attended school in the two room school house in Holland. She was united in marriage to Jake W. Muller on February 10, 1949. Julia and Jake made their home on the farm and had three children Eldon, Marcella “Marty”, and Jolene “Jo”. She worked beside Jake on the farm and helped with chores while taking care of the children. Julia cooked and baked for the family every day and was known for her pies and bread. Julia enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, baking, cooking, and puzzle books. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Reformed Church.

Julia is survived by her children: Eldon Muller of Aplington, Marty (Bob) Krueger of Sabula, Jo (Jeff) Kuball of Rochester, MN; grandchildren Melissa (Jason) Kelley of Waterloo, Sandy (Jeff) Kreinbring of Solon, Daniel (Kimberly) Krueger of Camanche, IA; 7 great grandchildren; brother Clarence Henze. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jake, sisters Jeanette Meester, Sophia Muller, Ella Meints, brothers George Henze, Ernest Henze, infant triplet siblings, daughter-in-law Patricia Muller.
