OBIT: David Wayne Rodemaker

David Wayne Rodemaker, 67, of Mason City, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. Military honors will be provided by the Clear Lake VFW Post 4868 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at the funeral home in Clear Lake.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

David was born October 23, 1951, the son of Roland and Agnes (Bonnett) Rodemaker in Osage. He married Deborah “Debbie” Hammond in 1998, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

A graduate of Osage High School, David enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War in Germany. Following retirement from the U.S. Army Reserves, he worked various part-time jobs in Mason City.

David enjoyed staying busy with projects around the house. He liked assembling model aircrafts and wood working projects.

David is survived by his wife, Debbie Rodemaker of Mason City; two step-children, Amber (Josh) Nettifee of Clear Lake and Erich (Brook) Berry of Des Moines; a brother, Jim (Twyla) Rodemaker of Osage; and three siblings-in-law, Jaci (Jerry) Hammond of Clear Lake, Rita (Wayne) Miller of Missouri Valley, IA and Steve Hammond of Polk City, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Rodemaker.
